A new regulatory framework for mining in New Zealand came into force in December 2013. This Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) provides information to assist a site senior executive in developing the Ventilation Principal Control Plan required by the new Health and Safety in Employment (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2013. The relevant Regulations are reproduced in this document, accompanied by ACOP requirements and practical guidance to assist the mine/tunnel operator in meeting their obligations under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 (HSE Act) and its associated Regulations.
